Temgazi Sings To The Irrational Lover In Her Latest RnB Single “Worst Way”

Swazi-South African songstress, Temgazi, enters the 2024 music scene with an RnB single titled “Worst Way”. Temgazi, is no stranger to the music scene, with a well-decorated history in music. From singing in church groups as a child, to later joining a girl group called Adira Belle, which featured on the popular television show X Factor in 2013. She has since made a name for herself, opening for the likes of Sampha The Great and sharing the stage with other great African artists like Musa Keys, Omah Lay and Daliwonga. The talented songstress often delivers different styles in her music, from rap bars to now gracing our speakers with her moving love song, “Worst Way”.

Temgazi’s first offering of the year is a ballad for the irrational lover. “Worst Way” is a song that captures the rollercoaster of emotions in an intoxicating relationship that causes unparalleled pain. The song further tugs at the heartstrings with its simple strumming pattern, making it even more personal to the listener. She further explained the significance of the song structure in an interview with SA Hip Hop Reloaded, expressing that the strumming pattern allows the lyrics and meaning to have the desired emphasis. It is evident that Temgazi pays attention to the elements that go into crafting her music.

“Worst Way” goes in my collection of songs that are true to the modern dating world, not knowing what kind of love you’re receiving. But also knowing that love often takes different forms, reeling us in with sweet words and warm embraces and later turning into something or someone we no longer recognise. Temgazi has since alluded to her upcoming EP titled ‘Therapy’, bound to give more of these ballads. I’m excited to hear the bodies of work Temgazi has in store for her listeners and romantics alike.
