Dynamic recording artist Money Badoo speaks her mind and sets boundaries in her brand new single, “Don’t Call Me.” The track, featuring The Woodz & gTbeats, marks a significant moment in Badoo’s career as she ventures into Afropop. Additionally, Badoo’s head-turning creative direction has mainstream potential, and the blending of her vibrant style merges well with the genre’s infectiousness. Also, the single was released under Paradise Sound System, a record label with South African roots and global reach. Importantly, their rich catalog of hit songs from hitmakers places Badoo in a position to go to the next level. An Afropop single is an interesting choice as a teaser for her upcoming album. Nevertheless, Money Badoo is clever to avoid making an enemy out of versatility.

Money Badoo is a multi-talented rapper, singer, songwriter, stylist, and creative director from Ennerdale, South Africa. She is a mixture of influences from many parts of Johannesburg. Money Badoo reflects her eclectic background in her music and fashion, which merge abstract creativity with relatable themes. Moreover, her musical journey began at the age of 12, singing in church, before evolving into writing poetry and rapping.

Money Badoo’s career took off with the release of her debut single, “All My Friends,” in 2019. The track captured the attention of industry heavyweights, including Ebro, who featured the song on ‘The Ebro Show’ on Apple Music. In 2020, she teamed up with her friend and collaborator, Sauwcy, to release the trap EP MK-Ultra. Since then, Money Badoo has collaborated with some of South Africa’s most promising artists, including Blxckie, lordkez, and Doowap. Undoubtedly, it further cemented her place in the industry after her debut project, PORN$TAR. The release follows the joint EP with producer NOTBENJAMIN called CI2TG (Charge It 2 The Game).

“Don’t Call Me” is a deep dive into modern-day relationships and the complexities of internet love in the digital age. Money Badoo captures the essence of situationships, infusing the track with the raw emotions of a breakup. “The message is about internet love in the age of technology, situationship dynamics, and ultimately, it’s a breakup song,” explains Money Badoo. She adds, “I wrote this song from a very real place and hope ‘Don’t Call Me’ resonates with people and encourages them to leave situations or situationships that don’t serve them any longer!” Apart from this, Badoo expresses modest optimism about the direction of her career. “To be honest, I just feel like I’m just getting started,” she said in a Hype Magazine interview. “I’ve had a very intentional plan and it’s worked thus far. Now I’m just ready to spread my wings and fly, dawg…” she adds.

Without a doubt, the collaboration with The Woodz adds an exciting dimension to the track. “He was such a great addition to the song,” says Money Badoo. Platinum-selling producer gTbeats produced the single. Apart from his own music, he continues to prove his prowess by creating a sound that brings Money Badoo’s vision to life.

Unquestionably, Money Badoo is an accomplished stylist, visual artist, and photographer. Furthermore, she gained national recognition through Canon’s reality series “Picture Perfect,” where she showcased her creative talents behind the camera and emerged as the winner. Essentially, this achievement propelled her to collaborations with top fashion brands like Mugler, H&M, and Puma. Subsequently, MTV cast her in “Love & Hip-Hop: South Africa,” the first installment of the popular franchise on the continent.

With her multifaceted approach, Money Badoo continues to break boundaries and set new standards in the music and fashion industries. Stream ‘Don’t Call Me’ ft The Woodz and gTbeats now on all platforms.
