Mpho Sebina Illustrates A Journey Of Healing In Latest Single “Tshepo”

Following the release to her 2022 single “Tsela Tshewu” is Botswana born artist, Mpho Sebina as she makes her return in the year with her first single titled “Tshepo“. The single was first teased on the 15th of May on Mpho’s socials with a stunning cut from the official visualiser. “Tshepo” is an emotionally moving single which taps into the world of Mpho as she details a journey of healing from grief and loss of those she dearly loves.

In the words of Mpho, “The single draws inspiration from the legendary Trio, Dalom Kids. Their iconic song “Ditsala Tsame”, released in 1995 and produced by musical maestro Dan Tshanda, serves as the foundation for Mpho’s soulful composition.”

When I first heard “Tshepo” I was in a dearly mesmerising state of mind as the vocal guide from the start till the end of the song detailed the story in an authentic and raw format as Mpho stood to her roots and sang about life and how far she has come. It personally spoke to me as it perpetuated a strong message of self-love and being kind to thyself even in the midst of dark moments in our lives as we are all more than capable of making it out the storm. It further touched on a note of the inner-strength that one has emotionally and mentally which does not need you to rely on others to invoke it.

“Tshepo” is a masterpiece as it serves as music for the soul from the production to the lyricism as well as well choreographed visuals. It truly spoke to Mpho’s journey and what it takes to heal from parts that formerly left you feeling broken and alone. There isn’t much art that feeds two or more elements of the human garden which is the mind, the body and the soul and in this instance, the music speaks to the mind and the soul. You will truly enjoy “Tshepo” as it sets a mood and tone of peace and serenity.
