How Bonga Kwana Reminds Us That Tough Times Never Last Through Her New Single

Amongst all the joy that life may come with, it also comes with sorrow and hopelessness. Life can bring one to many highs and even lower lows, this type of turbulence requires us to have a little faith and to cling on to hope. With that in mind, Bonga Kwana’s solace for all the endurance and tribulations, came about ‘Ndibize’.

‘Ndibize’ as directly translated in isiXhosa means ‘call on me’. The single is soulfully moving in its lyricism and the harmonic vocals of Bucie and Bonga Kwana. The energy that is carried and evoked in the song is both spiritual and humbling, the lyrics come across very personal and intentional in its delivery. Hard times never last, however as one may be in the midst of hardship it becomes difficult for them to see a way out of the darkness that may be weighing them. That reminder or rather encouragement for one to call onto a high power. Most of all, it serves as proof of hope.

The single is both a Xhosa hymn and modern afro-house which makes it equally moving, rhythmically and energetically. Sonically, produced by Drumpope who is known for being in the afrotech music space, wonderfully curated the single. For those that resonate with it, you may definitely find yourself singing it with your hand on your chest and the other in the air; either from home or on a dancefloor.
