Fentse. Reminisces On The Effects Of A Toxic Relationship In ‘VIDEO GIRL’

It has been over two years since Fentse. dropped a body of work with her debut project being her 7 track ‘Get It Together.‘ which featured singles such as ‘Leaves.‘ and ‘Good Goodbye.’. She now returns with the lead single ‘Video Girl‘ to her forthcoming 9 track project ‘Therapy Is Cancelled‘ which is expected to release on the 19th of August.

I was excited when I heard that she had released her first single of the year as her storytelling ability will take you on an adventure vocally and mentally. I will be honest, I only got the opportunity to listen to the single and I am highly impressed as the sound experience is different. It reminds me of the time when Willow Smith and Jaden Smith were still pushing the misfit brand as their music was very relatable. What I was able to extract from the single is that it taps into the mind of Fentse. as she reflects on a relationship that never really worked out as this particularly lover was not only toxic but also never saw the wrongs within their actions and this drove her over the hill as the experience mentally and emotionally took a toll on her.

This then allowed her to value herself even more as the people around her can vouch that she gave the relationship her all and clearly this particular partner was blinded failed to clearly see how good he had it. All she is trying to say is that she is not your average individual and she refuses to be treated as one hence the lines “…I am not your radio girl, so f*ck off and leave me alone…”. It is an amazing single to listen to as you are guided by a well strung guitar and soothing vocals with her signature background vocals to create an ambience tone to the song.

I am now left with nothing but excitement for this forthcoming project as I know that she will not disappoint which you can pre-save/pre-add here. But in the meantime let us show appreciation towards the world of Fentse by streaming the single below.

I love what I do on a daily basis as I get to help out fellow African creatives spread out their work to the world. I am a diverse individual as I do not limit myself to one group or type of content. I am always open to receiving new work from other individuals as that is my way of maintaining the culture in quality form.
