The music landscape is ever-growing, and emerging from its depths is Betty Brown with her debut EP titled “Soulitude”. With the 6-track offering, she blends RnB and soul into a rich auditory experience. Her sound draws inspiration from similar RnB and Neo-soul artists like Brandy, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and jazz vocalist Simphiwe Dana. “Soulitude” follows Betty Brown’s February releases of the two singles “Rather Be Alone” and “Life is Better – Interlude”. Her EP is reminiscent of a night out, enjoying live jazz sessions with great company.

The EP opens with the song “Sink”. It serves as a subtle reminder to the listener of life’s difficulties and the importance of accepting, moving and growing through them. This theme is repeated throughout the body of work. Betty Brown also presents the listener with a mirror, prompting us to let go of the things we cannot control and reclaim our power in the process. She collaborates with G Twizz in the songs “You do” and “Sober”, two songs about rising above self-doubt and chasing after your dreams. “Soulitude” can deeply resonate with it’s listeners, making it easy to return to.

With this debut, Betty Brown invites growth – both personally and musically. She reassures her listeners by communicating her own vulnerability and liberation. One thing is clear, this is the start of a rewarding journey for Betty Brown. She is on the rise and there is promise to do great things.
