Following his two-year hiatus from the industry is multi-talented artist, Ason Leaux formarlly known as Ason. Throughout Ason’s inactivity from the releasing his own music, he has been able to experiment and expand his sound through various collaborations with the likes of Maglera Doe Boy, Flow Jones Jr. and many more.

This has allowed us to discover Ason on a different musical style tip as compared to his last release in 2021 titled “Kilo” which featured Maglera Doe Boy. The song was merely inspired by the infamous ‘Narcos’ series as this could be heard through the sound. Ason now makes his return to the world of music with his first single of the year titled, “Rush”.

“Rush” is about feeling present in the moment of a good time. Making sure to feel and see everything while it’s happening live. We all live a life where are searching for the next thing all the time and people always forget to just “be” and be grateful. Ason steadily laced the song with a catchy hook over a trappy beat, making it an easy to listen track as the instrumental and vocals complement each other allowing for the mood in the room to be lifted up. His lyricism is fully embracing self-confidence and freedom as he touches on a pretty lady in the room which he wants to pursue and embark on a never-ending fun adventure with. In the song, he further expresses his physique and ready to party mood as he cannot wait to spend time with her but time just seems to be not in his favour but because he couldn’t care less as he believes in living in the moment and being present, he goes after her and enjoys the moment he has with her whilst he still can.

In a pre-interview Ason shared, “I made the song right after a house party I threw, and it had all my favorite things, so I wanted to capture that feeling into a sonic right away. The 808s and Melodies are just so beautiful that you’re immersed into a world right when you hear the first note. It’s amazing. It’s pretty girl music really. That’s who I make music for anyways. I try to Invoke a “future Nostalgia” for whoever listens to it whether they are taking a drive out with the windows down, dancing to it with their friends, Pre-drinking to it before going out or just blasting it out by yourself at home! It all goes into my nostalgic saying, ‘You Should’ve Been Here” because I get to live such a fun life and I’m always down to make more memories’.”

“Rush” is only the beginning to a busy season for Ason as he steadily hinted visuals for ‘Dor Do Povu” by Maglera Doe Boy featuring him in the past months during their trip to Mozambique. Fans can expect the visuals to drop pretty soon and whilst they wait, they can enjoy the “Rush” with Ason.

I love what I do on a daily basis as I get to help out fellow African creatives spread out their work to the world. I am a diverse individual as I do not limit myself to one group or type of content. I am always open to receiving new work from other individuals as that is my way of maintaining the culture in quality form.
