Following the announcement of his 7th Studio album “Solomon” is multi-award winning artist and entrepreneur, Cassper Nyovest as he initiates the journey to “Solomon” with his highly anticipated lead single “018” featuring multi-talented rapper, Maglera Doe Boy.
The song has been teased for quite sometime across Cassper Nyovest’s socials with vlog-style content in which we get to experience the making of the single. This of course follows the establishment of his relationship with Sprite in which he released a highly inspirational single titled “Soul” which formed part of Sprite’s global campaign. He is now on a joint-tour with Nasty C across Africa titled “African Throne” in which the two unite to perform their classic hits alongside some new material including “018” in which is in preparation to his forthcoming album “Solomon”. The song was accompanied with stunning visuals in which we explore Cassper Nyovest at church having a praise and worship session with “bo mma ba kreke” which translates in english to “ladies of the church”.
This concept of course is derived from the source of inspiration in which is his spirituality and as well as an external expression to the art cover which was captured by local photographer and videographer, Lakhe. You are then taken on a journey further where Cassper Nyovest and Maglera Doe Boy are having lots of fun in classical hood style which is spinning a 325is as well as spending time with the squad in front of the corner store whilst wearing t-shirts with the “018” title. This was a well planned roll-out as they celebrate Mahikeng in the Southern Northwest with the area code being sang in a very catchy tone. Cassper also played a role in directing the visuals in which his long-time stylist, Nokana “Windows 2000” Mojapelo styled the set with various wardrobe options.
You will enjoy the visuals alongside the song itself as the sound of drill is guided by amazing flows and lyricism allowing for the embracement of having fun and I steadily believe that this will be the new drill street anthem in South Africa, slowly but surely, similar to what “Nokuthula” did when it dropped in 2020. This is an amazing way to announce the pre-save campaign for the album as you can pre-save the album here.
