Accelerate your career, elevate your financial wellness and secure the bag with Cassper Nyovest. The Liberty Group is proud to announce this year’s life altering workshop that aims to prepare individuals in the Arts, Sports and Entertainment Industry for financial fitness, ultimately leading them to financial freedom and accessibility. The workshop will be repurposed into a 6-part YouTube series that will give young individuals and entrepreneurs, tools on how to manage their finances in a sustainable manner.

Financial mismanagement by talent in the entertainment industry is an issue that has been going on for decades. A combination of Celebrity Influence, Financial Experts plus strong brand collaborations come together to change mindsets and shape the thinking of future talent and South Africans around sound financial management.

Financial wokeness is the new lit!

Cassper Nyovest has personally curated a full panel of industry experts and well-known local ground breakers like DJ Zinhle and Oskido to inspire, give insight and educate them on financial literacy. Taking place in the heart of Soweto at KONKA, an iconic venue that has now become part of the youth culture, on the 24th of June 2023 from 09H00.

When asked what the campaign means to him Cassper Nyovest (Curator and host of Secure the bag) said “The lack of financial wellness and management of artists has always been something that people talk about and criticise. I wanted to create a platform where I could engage my peers and partners, who have achieved long-term financial success and stability, to have an open discussion about how they are doing it. I want someone who attends the workshop, to leave enlightened about how to manage their finances whether they are an aspiring artist or business owner.”

The workshop will provide an opportunity to interact with experts increasing thoughtful leadership, experts share knowledge and skills on relevant topics. “Secure the bag with Cassper Nyovest” is an invite for ambitious youth who may lack financial literacy in parts of their businesses and need practical solutions to better they portfolios.

“Liberty’s brand purpose is to improve people’s lives by enabling their financial freedom and we believe this journey should begin earlier in their adult lives.

The partnership with Cassper Nyovest, a global superstar, dynamic entrepreneur and an inspirational figure amongst the youth, is a natural fit as we seek to create affinity with the youth market.  We intentionally chose to partner with KONKA, as it’s deemed an iconic venue which gives its patrons a grand experience without compromising who they are as unique individuals. From a Liberty perspective, we want to let the youth know that in order to continue enjoying these unique experiences that the likes of KONKA provides, they need to have a solid financial plan to help them grow and protect the wealth they’re building. That’s the balancing act they need as they grow to become better future selves.

Through Securing the bag, we hope to educate and empower young people on some basic and complex financial concepts on how they can become financially responsible and eventually financially prosperous.

Ultimately, we are “in it” with the South African youth to unlock their financial wokeness,” said Sibongile Sibanda, Liberty Divisional Executive, Brand and Integrated Marketing and Communications.

I love what I do on a daily basis as I get to help out fellow African creatives spread out their work to the world. I am a diverse individual as I do not limit myself to one group or type of content. I am always open to receiving new work from other individuals as that is my way of maintaining the culture in quality form.
