It has been over 4 months since R&B singer & songwriter, Zimkitha released her 2nd single of the year titled “Complicated” with Tasha HendrixX. Prior to that release, she had announced that she was working on her debut album which would be released later in the year. It is with great privilege that we announce the official date for Zimkitha’s debut album “The Black Enigma” as it is set for release on the 18th of September 2024. The album release will be complimented with an intimate start to her tour titled “The Black Enigma Tour” at the prestigious ‘South African State Theatre’ in Pretoria on the 21st of September 2024. Following the 4 month break from not releasing, Zimkitha now returns with her 3rd single of the year titled ‘Baby Vuka’ which is set to ignite the journey to her debut album. The single is about the little moments that define us as humans such as stepping outside to breathe. Those moments aren’t always playing out like that, as depression and anxiety can simmer in, which can leave one laying in bed for hours or days. “Baby Vuka” serves as a reminder to one’s worth and why they deserve to be loved as the world loves them back and all they need to do is to wake up (Vuka) in order to experience those special moments. It is a form of self-affirmations that speak life into one’s world allowing them to also share those valuable words with others, thus sharing their light with the world.
The song which is produced by rapper and music producer L-Tip, infuses Neo-Soul sounds with Jazz elements through Zimkitha’s reaffirming and soothing vocal prowess coupled with authentic storytelling which is a mixture of IsiXhosa and English languages. It truly sets the mood and tone of ‘The Black Enigma’ album.
