Yanga Chief embodies duality well, the award-winning rapper has found the perfect balance of addressing a variety of relevant subjects, from good times to always remaining centred in self, especially in hard times. Mental health is an ongoing journey and often one needs to pour into one’s cup with words of encouragement.
The visualizer embodies a timeless message- an ode to self. “In this song I just be talking to myself. Maybe a subtle self-reminding anecdote might be just what everyone needs to hear. We all talk of mental health when it’s appropriate to do so but that is usually when it’s too late. This song was penned for times like this. The message is simple, don’t give up. Keep your head up and never let somebody else decide who and what you are. It doesn’t matter how many people don’t believe in you, you only have to convince yourself. With it being June 16 it felt appropriate to share my motivation with you. It’s show time.” Yanga shares.
The visualizer is one of a three-part series of visuals from Yanga Chief that will drop ahead of his new album.
