Picture this, it is a bloomy Wednesday and you are on your way to work in need of some lovely music to listen to and you happen to be scrolling on your Instagram then boom, you see this eye grabbing promo video for a song that is dropping that Friday. This was the day I discovered singer and songwriter, Tusekah who is currently based in New Zealand but happens to be from South Africa. I was immediately sold into the single release as the rollout content for the song was aesthetically pleasing and left me on the edge of my seat wondering if there was more to come.
The single is an easy listen as it is infused with a live band instrumental that is soothingly lead by Tusekah’s vocals and amazing storytelling. ‘I Ain’t Waiting Around’ is a song about a lover that simply refuses to act on their feelings in other words make a move and Tusekah is simply expressing that she is tired of waiting and she might as well go ahead and make a move if they don’t but at the same time it is through this person’s stalling that allows her to see her value and if they can’t see her value she might as well leave at the same time as there are other people out there that will appreciate her and value her presence and love her the way she wants to be loved and vice versa.
As you can tell this is a song that touches the heart and will not only have you wondering what really happened as I was blown away by the story line and simply how well executed the idea for the song was. I am honestly excited to hear more work from Tusekah this year.
