Thuto The Human Crowned The Winner Of ‘Rémy Producers’ Season Two By Rémy Martin

Aspiring up-and-coming producer, Thuto Moloi, aka Thuto the Human, has won the opportunity of a lifetime after having been crowned the winner of Rémy Producers Season Two. The talented young beatmaker outperformed hundreds of other contenders to win the coveted prize – a chance to open for Major League DJz at a gig in Dubai this coming March.

Rémy Producers Season Two saw the premium cognac brand, Rémy Martin, team up with Major League DJz, one of South Arica’s hottest music duos, in search of Mzansi’s next big producer. The music competition, which replicates the US series, pairs renowned producers with budding artists, giving them a foothold into the industry.

This season the series saw over 1 200 young beatmakers enter their beats in the hope of making the grade, with the top ten attending a bootcamp in Johannesburg this past weekend. Here they were mentored by Major League DJz, and other industry experts, award-winning producers and record labels in intimate workshops, challenges and one-on-one sessions culminating in a face-off between the top three for the chance to win the grand prize.

Speaking of his win Moloi said, “I feel like a million dollars! The 24-year-old then elaborated: “I wanted to become a producer because so much out there musically was exclusive. I felt I needed to create my own version of what I wanted to hear. What inspires me is to make music I believe is good and resonates with my heart. My future plans and dreams are to be international and to change the amapiano sound.”

The winner of Rémy Producers Season One, Profound, was at the bootcamp, giving his advice and thoughts on how the competition changed his life: “Since I bagged Rémy Producers title, I
managed to get my name in the game, and I’ve connected with so many amazing artists.”
Moloi will now spend the next two months preparing for his career-breaking moment in Dubai,
    opening for Major League DJz.

Major League DJz, said, "A big shout out to the winner Thuto you’re gonna be with us in Dubai.
It’s going to be a crazy one, I hope you’re ready to have fun with us. Thank you to Rémy Martin,
    it’s been an amazing experience.”

Jerome Adonis, Portfolio Manager at Rémy Martin South Africa explained that “Music is part of
our DNA as South Africans – we live, eat and breathe music. We created this competition to offer
aspiring artists a chance to be recognised and to be mentored into seasoned producers. We
were looking for authentic sounds that pushed boundaries and appealed to a global audience.
Thuto impressed us with his talent and enthusiasm – we are so proud to be part of his story and can’t wait to see his career develop and flourish over the years to come.”

The story of Rémy Producers Season Two and Moloi’s journey to Dubai will be told in a short TV series, aired on MTV Base in April 2023.

I love what I do on a daily basis as I get to help out fellow African creatives spread out their work to the world. I am a diverse individual as I do not limit myself to one group or type of content. I am always open to receiving new work from other individuals as that is my way of maintaining the culture in quality form.
