Fentse., the talented artist, just released her new album called “Therapy Is Cancelled” and we were lucky enough to attend her listening event. The atmosphere was electric, with the sound of hip hop music in the background, table tennis matches, laughter and intimate conversations. The artists were dressed to the nines and everyone was having a great time.
When it was time for the silent listening session, we all put on our headsets and immersed ourselves in the music. Fentse.’s music is a blend of retro, psychedelic and trance-like sounds, with a mix of her favourite musical influences. She shared her inspiration behind the title of the album, which was a funny story about her therapy session being cancelled, but having to deal with her problems on her own.
Fentse.’s lyrics are deep and meaningful, and you can tell that she put a lot of effort into them. The album has an R&B and alternative sound that is both energetic and calming at the same time. There are so many amazing songs on the album, but some of our favourites were ‘Nintendo’ ft Kyabo, which sounded like it should be in a game, ‘Caffeine’, has experimental sounds, flirting between soulful grit, hip-hop’s edginess, and pop, and ‘Pulp Fiction’, a dreamy song about missing a lover.
Overall, Fentse.’s album is a must-listen for anyone who enjoys rooftop chill sessions and deep conversations about healing, vulnerability, and authenticity. Anyone who loves music that’s different. It’s a true work of art that showcases the best of Fentse.’s musical talents.
