Amapiano has different levels to it based on my perspective as a consumer from the soulful type to the groovy type and at times spiritual type, music speaks to the soul, mind and body in different volumes and I can truly attest that we have a variety of great producers in the game that have mastered the language of music with one of them being multi-platinum selling record producer, Soa Mattrix as he leads us into his forthcoming album “Akani“. The album was first announced on the 1st of March with “Phumelela” being the lead single featuring ‘Soa Family‘ signees, B33kay SA, Frank Mabeat & DeSoul which set the tone for the album as it is rich in storytelling through the possession of a strong message around the urge and the drive to succeed through perseverance and hard work which he has been applying over the years.
He now returns with a brand new single that I dearly love and hold close to my heart titled “Amaphupho” which features Cnethemba Gonelo, Murumba Pitch and Sinny Man’Que. “Amaphupho” is a single about having dreams and aspirations which are accompanied by strength, patience and belief in thyself. The single taps into remaining calm and being resilient towards your dreams as we all have a journey to experience and at times that journey can be rocky and demotivating but if you truly believe in your dream and are willing to wait and work towards it, you shall see it come to light at some point. “Amaphupho” is strongly lead by euphonic and angelic vocals by Cnethemba as well as harmonious vocals by Murumba Pitch in which they compliment each other’s vocals in the beautiful chorus.
The single has indeed set quite a standard and tone as to what we can expect to hear in the album from the magnificent storytelling to the astonishing production style, Soa Mattrix put his best foot forward when it comes to this album and I know that it is a great stepping stone towards the right direction as it will open up many doors for him and his team. Whilst we wait for the full project to drop, let us indulge in the beautiful artistic work that Soa Mattrix has graced us with this Friday through streaming and pre-ordering the album here.
