Following their 2023 collaborative project is Shaney Jay and Youngsta CPT as they reunite for the release of Shaney Jay’s debut single “YES?YA”. The single showcases the ‘West-Coast’ sound in Cape Town with a tone or rather theme of the summer through a more ‘gangster rap’ flow. “YES?YA” is extracted from a term used as a greeting on a daily basis in Cape Town which initially embraces an anthem of relatability to the fellow community of Cape Town.
The single release serves as a hint for a potential project in the future that Shaney Jay may be working on. He shared in a pre-interview with his team, “I just want people to enjoy this song as much as we enjoyed creating it and just turn up.I just wanna keep creating dope music and keep pushing boundaries and take what I’m doing to the next level and across the world.”
