Upcoming Rapper, Songwriter and Producer, Nino Fresko is one artist to look out for in the coming year as his consistency and creative approach uniquely stands out. I was first introduced to Nino early this year at a studio session with Fentse, Ivy Leeg and Keeme Molapo. I was left astonished by his creative process and subtle approach to creating a sound that stands out on his own.
When I heard “The Lingo” last week through an ad post, I was mind blown as the single simply showcased his ability to rap and deliver a hook that sticks to the ear, from his flow to his articulation and play of words just certified it for me further and believe that you would also be left with curiosity to check out his music. “The Lingo” is a single that touches on the fashion scene in South Africa and constantly looking “fresh” in ‘fresh threads’ better described as ‘isdlathlwo’ in SA terms which is also seen in his fashion sense. The single features UYIHLO and Maximm. You will without a doubt enjoy this single as each performer contributed in the most creative way possible. I cannot wait to hear more of Nino’s music as well as visuals to the single (if there is plans for any).
