2020 was not really much of a good year as we experienced a global pandemic which lead to a global lockdown where many people lost family members and close friends to either mental health triggered suicide or health complications from Covid-19. But not the whole of 2020 was bad as we got to experience an amazing side of it which was the artistic music that allowed us to fight through the tough moments and continue to push through towards our futures. The ‘ZULU‘ mixtape by Nasty C and DJ Whoo Kid was one of those bodies of works that kept many of us sane as Nasty C gradually prepped us for his 3rd studio album ‘Zulu Man With Some Power‘.
The 11 track project gave us hits such as ‘Palm Trees’, ‘Eazy‘, ‘Steve Harvey’, ‘I’m Sorry‘ and many more. It has since grown in the most impactful way possible as it showcases a variety of cultures through the production. The project has since charted on Audiomack and currently sits on 29,5 Million total streams. ‘ZULU’ turns 3 years today and we cannot not appreciate art. As Nasty C prepares to release his 4th Studio album this year, let us enjoy and celebrate his work. Wishing him all the best with the remaining months of the year and looking forward to hearing more art that speaks to the people.
The project was more of a fun project which allowed people to not only feel happy but at the same time let out their tears. It was a project of life hence the various tones set by each track which speaks on topics such as heartbreak, anxiety, anger issues, rejection as well as happy moments. It is definitely worth the listen once again.
