Experimentation at times can be quite a difficult thing to apply especially when you live in two different musical worlds as merging of these two worlds can be a tough one, taking into consideration of the preexisting fan bases for both artists. This though did not get in the way of these two multitalented acts, UK’s very own Megatronic and South African singer and songwriter, Wandile Mbambeni as they recently united for a unique masterpiece titled “Rumours”. The song explores a world of disco type of dance with a mixture of soulful sounds complimented by the trumpets and Wandile’s soothing vocals alongside Megatronic’s mellow vocals.
Together they form a totally different sound into the House diaspora through the infusion of their secret touches. “Rumours” taps more into a story of love in its early stages as one begins to question their intentions as they spend more time around their potential partner in which they begin to realise their level of lust and urge to be intimate. It is quite a free-felt song as it releases a joyful mood and sets a more mellow tone through the vibrant beat and well written verses. The song was first recorded in the past year during Megatronic’s South African tour and appearance at the ‘Africa Rising Music Conference‘ in collaboration with Paradise Worldwide‘s label imprint, ‘Paradise Sound System‘ which she went on to perform it at the ‘Bushfire Festival‘ in Eswatini as well as the conference which she debuted the single at.
Megatronic took the time to describe the creative process behind the single in a quote provided by her label which states below.
“The concept behind the track was to create something that could work on the dancefloor as well in the car on nice day. Smooth, relaxing vocals melodies with a driving grooving baseline. People should listen to this, cause it’s a feel good kinda vibe. It’s definitely a track to sing & clap along to. This is intended to make your heart feel happy.” – Megatronic
