CottonFest’s ‘Class Of 2024’ Graduated In Style and Great Music This Past Weekend

Picture a day where the youth is care free and all about expressing themselves through great fashion taste accompanied by music taste, that’s what this year’s first CottonFest like. When we first arrived, we were welcomed by a beautiful basketball court view set up by the NBA Africa team alongside Jäegermeister with the bar and stage for entertainment. As you further explore the grounds of the festival you would then discover many more fun places such as the Klipdrift Klubhouse in collaboration with local clothing brand, Broke where you would be able to make purchases on the Klipdrift drinks as well as some Broke Merch if available.

It was a platform and a half as each brand came in guns blazing with their activations from Crocs with the competition to win a pair of free Crocs to Mr Price running a store with a spend limit that could enter you into a raffle to win some lovely prize, in which I got to witness someone get a brand new phone from that. Coca-Cola studio also had a lovely set up where lovers of the Coca Cola brand could consume their goods as well as receive some souvenirs to keep. All in all it was a great experience for someone looking for a day to whine down and relax whilst networking with fellow peers.

The entertainment was quite amazing as this year’s Bunker Stage brought out some of the youth’s favourite uprising acts such as Mochen, Usimamane, Leodale, Baby Diaz, Tyson Sybateli and many more. Whilst the main stage brought out some memorable acts that set an insane standard for fans from the likes of K.O, Zee Nxumalo, Focalistic, EeQue, Venom & Shishiliza, A-Reece, Sjava, Maglera Doe Boy and many more. It was a night to remember for the CottonEaters as Nasty C blew the main stage away with his phenomenal performance followed by DJ Maphorisa who closed the show with a bang.

Overall, this year’s festival was great and I would personally rate it from my experience a 7.5 out of 10 only because of the distance to walk around and the abrupt rain which lead to the mud affecting our shoes but aside from that, they really did great with their set up this year.

I love what I do on a daily basis as I get to help out fellow African creatives spread out their work to the world. I am a diverse individual as I do not limit myself to one group or type of content. I am always open to receiving new work from other individuals as that is my way of maintaining the culture in quality form.
