Amarii has been actively hard at work with the release of his 2nd project “From Bremersdorp With Love”. The project saw a one month pre-add campaign in which fans got to hear a portion of the project as he released lead singles “fame” followed by “welcome 2 my life” which landed on three editorial playlists on Apple Music. Now it isn’t everyday where an artist that is solely pushing independently achieves such accolades in such a short period but him and the Escopia Distribution team made it all a reality.
I first heard the project a week after signing Amarii to the distribution subsidiary as we assisted him with selecting focus tracks and compiling a structure for the release. In that moment that we shared, I got to understand him as an artist as he further explained the music scene in Swaziland and why he creates the type of music he creates. I was mind-blown because that very same day, I got home and re-listened to the 9-track project and honestly for me it detailed a journey in his life that many would really fear to experience as he guides us into his life and community.
The music solely spoke for itself as the intro “23” taps into the all the possibilities that a young adult should push for as not everyone will believe in you just as you believe in yourself. “welcome 2 my life” then flouses his confidence and further mirrors his vision in life through the 808s and fast paced instrumental as he narrates his life journey and how he will not limit himself to his capabilities as he knows that he is going far in life and no dream is too far to reach. The project details various factors within Amarii’s life which allow fans to have a more vivid image to his journey. He features only two artists on the project, Yung TMPO and Grixxly, making it a more personal project than ever as they contribute to the storytelling of Swaziland’s scenery.
Amarii continuously proves his versatility and ability to adapt to any form of sound as he experimented quite a lot with sounds especially on “truth” as it expresses a more vulnerable side within him. This is heard in the lyricism and tone used within the track as well as the mellowness of the beat. “From Bremersdorp With Love” is a solid experience and definitely worth the listen as you learn a lot more about Amarii’s life story and challenges he has had to succumb to get to where he is right now as a 23 year old. The future is without a doubt bright and he can only go further from here as he plans to expand on the project with a bit of cinematic visuals which fans can expect soon.
