Music is a journey and a half for both the artist and consumer as they shed their perspectives through their common love for the art. One artist whose journey has been quite beautiful to witness over the years is multi-talented artist “SuperCye” as he moved from being under the ‘KandyKoated Music‘ family to solely moving independent. He has since grown musically through his versatile catalogue as he continues to experiment with various sounds mainly in his 2022 single, “Becky Becky” which showcased a more vibrant and drill side of SuperCye.
He now returns with a brand new 15 track project titled “Desires” which features the likes of Espiquet, MoshpitCindy, Neythebae, Hype1108 and many more. The album is a pure representation of SuperCye’s journey from an emotional aspect to a mental aspect as he touches on experiencing betrayal, loneliness, heartbreak and much more. In the project, you get a more personal experience as to who SuperCye is through a mixture of sounds from your mellow rap over tropical sounds to the hype trappy sounds. “Go Hard” and “Closer” are my top favourites as they do not only remind one about the better days being near but also motivate one to keep on pushing as anything is possible so hold on and apply pressure. You will truly get to where you envision yourself if you truly believe in both yourself and your craft.
This project stems from a far more deep perspective in the lens of Neo “SuperCye” Setai as he further explores the steep mountains of life through finding himself and seeking for his purpose in life. It is indeed true when they say, ‘the most eye opening truths lie in the art and eyes of the beholder’. “Desires” will be on repeat for a while as I too continue seeking for my extended purpose in life through the visualisation of my heart’s and mind’s desires.
