The long awaited album “I Love It Here” by multi-platinum selling artist, Nasty C has finally arrived for our consumption and I could not be happier. The release of the project has placed the Hip-Hop community in a highly staggering position as many get to understand what rap really is about. In the album, you get to explore Nasty C in true human nature as he taps into what it is like to be a father and most importantly as he wraps off his bandages to showcase his life wounds. You are first welcomed by a highly emotional intro which taps into his childhood story and an event which impacted his upbringing as him and his family have had to live through the trauma and hurt for so many years.
Both “Endless” and “Crazy Crazy” expose a side of vulnerability within Nasty C’s life as he expresses his love for his long-time partner. Each track details the journey to now as Nasty C pens his life story to the world allowing for people to understand his true character and not judge him based on what they may think they know about him generally, hence the track “Release Me”.
Personally, this is a masterpiece as Nasty C found a way to infuse a bit of a live-band aesthetic and raw rap which extends the reach of the project as many can resonate to the subject matters that he addresses within the project. In the album, he features a star-studded line up of artists from the likes of ‘Manana’, ‘Tellaman’, ‘Maglera Doe Boy’, ‘Ami Faku’, ‘Benny The Butcher‘ and many more. You get to explore Nasty C in the most different light possible. This follows his successful listening session which was hosted on the 11th of August with brands such as Mercedes Benz, Coca-Cola and many more involved in the curating of the show which saw him receive a plaque for various bodies of work also highlighting him reaching 850 Million all-time streams across all streaming platforms.
“I Love It Here” is just the start to an extended journey as we get to embark on this new expedition with Nasty C and honestly, I cannot wait to see what else he has for us in the future because the storytelling within the album is just too mind blowing to not bring up as he raps on failure, success, emotional and mental tribulations, trust issues, relationships and much more. You will enjoy each bit of this album as it embodies what ‘Artistry’ is all about.
